SPRING Spirit Wear and Garage Signs Now Available

Spirit Wear for SPRING sports is now available!  Go to http://www.hcsgear.mylogoshop.com/ to check out the variety of options for each sport and to order.  Orders received by March 4 will be shipped directly to your home by March 16.  ALSO, new this year are Spirit Garage Signs (we know you have seen them around your neighborhood) and magnets.  You can obtain an order form from a coach or the Athletic Department.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call the Athletic Department at (317) 813-3889. 

High School and Middle School ZONE Training Schedule – Spring 2012

The 2012 spring ZONE training schedule for the remainder of the school year is as follows.  Sessions will take place as indicated.  Middle School Intro to Zone is intended as a primer for 8^th grade only boys and girls to introduce them to High School level Zone training (sessions will run 60 to 75 minutes).   

Mondays

Ø  3:30-4:30pm MS Intro to ZONE  (8^th grade only) in Cafetorium

Ø  4:30-5:30pm HS Girls Softball in Cafetorium

Tuesdays

Ø  3:30-5:00pm HS Coed Out-of-season (combination of conditioning and weight training) Mezzanine and Weight Room

Wednesdays

Ø  3:30 HS Girls Tennis on Tennis Courts

Ø  3:30 HS Boys Golf on Tennis Courts for stretching and then to Weight Room

Ø  4:30 HS Boys Lacrosse on Stadium field (weather permitting)

Thursdays

Ø  3:30 to 5:00pm HS Coed Out-of-season (combination of conditioning and weight training) Mezzanine and Weight Room

Ø  5:00 HS Girls Lacrosse (30 minute session) in Main gym

Boys Swim/Dive Team Soar at Sectionals!

The Heritage Boys Swim and Dive teams participated in Sectional Finals at Lawrence North on Saturday and swam tremendously.  Lifetime best swims in almost ALL events were achieved!  Unlike other sports, there are two components to measure success in swimming; winning, but more importantly, personal improvement.  Our teams excelled in both categories and broke four school records!

200 Free Relay (1:32.67) Max Roberts, Kenny Kha, Scott Osborne, James Waggoner

400 Free Relay (3:27.92) Zack Alves, Kenny Kha, Scott Osborne, James Waggoner

200 Freestyle (1:46.15) James Waggoner – with a career best time and shattering the school record

50 Freestyle (22.86) James Waggoner

Dive Results:  Colin Daly (9^th place) and Nick Doss (13^th)

If success is equated to winning, we did not win Sectionals, placing sixth.  If success is equated to rising to the challenge and being the best you can be, Heritage WON!!!!  Congratulations to the boys swim/dive teams!  We are so proud of you!

Middle School Spring Sport Tryout Dates

The following start dates have been announced for Middle School Spring Sports.  See notation by each sport to see if 6^th grade participation is allowed.  This is also with the understanding that 6^th graders will be competing with 7^th and 8^th graders.  There will also be callout meetings or sign-up sheets PRIOR to these dates so please make sure your child listens carefully to daily announcements at school for more information.  Remember that your student athlete must have a current sports physical on file in the Athletic Department to participate on any team.  If you have questions, please contact the coach or Michelle York at michelle.york@heritagechristian.net.

Middle School Boys 7th and 8th Grade Lacrosse Call Out and Parent Meeting

Undecided about Joining the High School Softball Team?

Varsity Softball Coach Rich Bailey will be holding an informal question and answer session on Wednesday, February 22 at 3:15 in the high school commons.  If you have never played before and are still trying to decide, or if you have already decided to play and have questions, stop by on Wednesday and meet the coach and some of the team.
