Bergman and Teeter Receive All-American Recognition

Julie Bergman has received the high honor of being selected to the US Lacrosse All-American First Team. This recognition rarely goes to a Junior and is a significant accomplishment for Julie, our school and the acknowledgement of girl’s lacrosse in the state of Indiana.
More great news for the girl’s lacrosse team was received when Anna Teeter was selected as a US Lacrosse Academic All-American. A USL Academic All American is recognized for not only exhibiting exemplary lacrosse skills, but also representing high standards of academic achievement in the classroom (3.5 cumulative GPA or above).
Both Julie and Anna were previously named to the First Team All-State (for the second year in a row) and just finished playing on an all Kentucky/Indiana team as part of a national tournament. CONGRATULATIONS Julie and Anna on these outstanding achievements.

SENIOR ATHLETES OF THE YEAR

Each year, the Athletic Booster Club, in conjunction with the coaches and Athletic Department, awards a $1,000 scholarship to one male and one female senior athlete. Criteria for this award include; a positive Christian testimony; leadership on and off the field; athletic excellence in a sport over their High School career; and academic eligibility standards consistently met. Congratulations to Stephanie Rogers and James Houck, the 2010 Athletes of the Year!

"DOC" RICHARDS SCHOLASTIC ATHLETES OF THE YEAR

Mark “Doc” Richards continues to impact the lives of Heritage students five years after losing his battle with cancer. Doc was a Heritage parent and former Heritage girls’ basketball and boys’ tennis coach. While he was passionate about athletic excellence, he was resolute about academic achievement. We continue to honor his memory by naming two outstanding athletes who have also committed themselves to academic distinction. Congratulations to Keegan McSweeney and Chris Bosma for their outstanding performance both in the classroom and in the pool.

Harris and Schmidler Honored on All Academic Team

Both Adam Schmidler and Andrew Harris were honored to be selected to the All Academic team for the 2010 season. To qualify the players have to have a cumulative grade point of 3.5 or better and these 2 players were 2 of only 18 in the state to achieve this honor. We are called to be leaders on and off the field and are proud to have these two players represent us on this team. Great job!

Evan Egenolf Recognized in Two Categories on All State Team

Congratulations to Evan Egenolf who was recognized as an All State Honorable Mention team member in 2 categories ... Long Stick Middie and Face-off. Many would love to be recognized in one category, to have a recognition in 2 is very impressive but very well deserved. Congratulations Evan!
