Welcome Ashley Fairweather - New Women's Lacrosse Head Coach

We are pleased to announce the appointing of Ashley Fairweather as our Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach.  Transitioning this role has been part of the long-time vision for the program and we are excited to make a shift at this time.

Coach Ashley Fairweather loves the Lord and brings excitement for loving and serving the young women who will be a part of Heritage Christian School’s Lacrosse team.  Coach Fairweather also brings a wealth of lacrosse knowledge and experience through her playing career at Duke and coaching at the College of William and Mary.

We are blessed to welcome one who knows the program well, having been an assistant to Coach Christopher Teeter for the 2011 season.  Coach Fairweather also takes this position with the full support of her husband, Jim Fairweather who led the Heritage Men’s Lacrosse team as Head Coach in 2008.

“I am thrilled at the opportunity to help lead this group of young women,” Fairweather said.  “My Heritage Lacrosse experience over the past season reinforced why we play and coach the game. Of course, it is fun to score goals, make tough defensive stops, and to win games.  But at the end of a hard training day, we remember that we choose to be a part of this Heritage Lacrosse family because of the lasting relationships built and the opportunity to work alongside each other, sharpening one another, taking lessons learned on the lacrosse field into our every day lives.”

A special thanks to Christopher Teeter and Tom Flynn.  They have been intricately involved in the start and incredible growth of the Heritage lacrosse program to this point.  They have been instrumental in helping to make this transition possible and have done an extraordinary job providing leadership to the program.   In addition, Tom Bergman has given of his talents for the past 3 seasons as an Assistant Coach on the Eagles staff.  Paige Burton also served during the memorable 2011 season as an Assistant Coach, making an especially great impact on the JV squad.

Thanks goes out to Lois Teeter and Karen Pok as well, for all of their efforts behind the scenes to keep the program heading in a forward direction both organizationally and spiritually.

The great encouragement by those who have previously poured into this lacrosse program and the lives who have taken part is a testament to the foundation laid as we move forward in a new direction lead by Coach Fairweather.  Please join us in supporting our new Head Coach and the entire Eagles Women’s Lacrosse program throughout this coming school year.
