ECHOCARDIOGRAMS OFFERED

This year echocardiograms will be available for all athletes. There will be a charge of $20.00. This test will NOT be required, but may give potentially lifesaving information about the heart’s output and valve function. The test can also detect hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (abnormal thickening of the heart muscle). Some athletes, based on the findings of their yearly sports physical, will be required to have an ECG; but the vast majority will not need this test.
